PE at St Nicholas
What does PE look like at St Nicholas?
At St Nicholas School, all pupils are included in all PE activities, taking part as appropriate to their own needs and the needs of the pupils around them. The PE Curriculum provides a variety of skills to enable our children to get the most enjoyment out of their physical activity. We have high expectations of all our children and promote an ethos in which they are valued and encouraged to reach their full physical potential.
The PE Co-ordinator and PE Specialist liaise weekly to ensure PE at St Nicholas School is delivered efficiently according to the children individual needs. They work closely with all other members of staff, including Physiotherapists, Speech Therapists and Occupational Therapists.

This provides tracking the children’s attainment as they progress through the school. Children participation are celebrated on a weekly basis in Star of the Week assembly as PE Star of the Week.
In year 6, children are given the opportunity to integrate with SEN Secondary school to visit their school site and join in with PE sessions there. Year 6 children also have the opportunity to become PE buddies to assist with PE sessions with key stage 1 pupils.
